My two cents
The most important thing a parent can do for the modern child is to shed their own fearful thoughts about being in control of our children’s lives on and off line. In the hyper-connected world it is easy to believe things that are not true and focus on things that don’t matter. And for parents and children, one of the untruth’s is this notion that parents have control over their own children.
They don’t. They never have, and the cyber-connectivity has introduced a power crisis that intensifies this truth that parents have divine authority to govern the home, not the child.
In this Sacramento Cyber Safety Examiner article, I offer a few insights to help parents confront the lies that have become real experiences murdering the truth about our divine nature (if we allow it in our own minds), and some tips for communicating to our children that they already have power and are equipped to defend their personal liberty that can never be taken – only surrendered.
